The career path of Joseph Robertson (Joe) Foster
Joe Foster was educated at private schools in Scotland and Lower Canada College in Montreal, Quebec 1926-1927-- -He worked for a year in London England at Samuel Courtauld Textile Company learning the ropes. 1928-1942---During this time he held various positions with Courtaulds Canada Ltd from Sales up to Office Manager to Advertising and Sales promotion manager. 1942-1944---Flight Lieutenant, Public Relations R.C.A.F. at headquarters in Ottawa. 1944-1956---Senior Account Executive at Cockfield Brown and Company in Montreal, including two years in the Vancouver office. 1956-1964---Senior Account Executive at Foster Advertising (no relation), this included setting up and managing the Ottawa office where he handled many Government accounts. 1964-1967---Working for the Public Relations Council and being a Eastern Ontario and Montreal representative of Ganes Productions of Toronto, Ontario and then setting up his own company which he ran until he retired in 1970.
